Been enjoying this one quite a bit. He's got a great voice, he does a lot of the higher harmonies live, and has put up the occasional solo acoustic track here and there over the years.
This weeks Chris Demakes a Podcast features Howard Benson talking about History of a Boring Town, Hello Rockview and using Pro Tools for the first time: Chris DeMakes A Podcast: Ep. 8: Howard Benson discusses Less Than Jake's "History of a Boring Town" on Apple Podcasts
I feel like that can't possibly be happening on the date anymore if they haven't said anything. Unless they're announcing that day? lol
Roger mentioned in a podcast that was recorded a couple days ago that a livestream was going to be announced some time this week, so maybe that? Just odd to announce it on a Saturday if that's what's happening on the 25th, and even odder to announce it with just a few days heads up if it's actually streaming on Saturday.
Vinnie posted a Kickstarter for "We Are the Inevitables", a comic book and companion musical soundtrack. Looks like the project is mainly his and Obi Fernandez's (Westbound Train) brainchild. The band features a bunch of people in it. Vinnie on drums, features a couple former RBF horn players (Billy Kottage and Matt Appleton) as well as from Big D, The Swellers, BTMI/Jeff Rosenstock's Band and Nightmare for a Week. Includes a couple of vinyl options, standard black vinyl and a Limited Edition Cover version, and looks like a standard 22 page comic book and a limited edition sketch book version of the comic. Didn't know they had a new album. Heard a song of theirs earlier this year, and it definitely gave me a heavy LTJ vibe.
You should definitely give it a listen. I get a lot of Anthem vibes, personally. Lots of upbeat punk and ska with gang vocals throughout.
Today is the last day for Vinnie's Kickstarter. Vinyl color swirl is unlocked for the soundtrack as well as the 7" flexi and alternate covers for the comic. About $3.5K from unlocking the glow in the dark vinyl.
I listened to Chris' recent podcast with Bill Stevenson the other day, and Chris said the new LTJ album is called "Silver Linings"
Middle of the road LTJ song for me. Fortunately, even a middle of the road LTJ song is better than most band’s best work. Stoked for the record.
