Classic record. I still remember when it came out. Just melted my brain. Feels almost offensive that it’s been 25 years.
I grew up in the Ny tri state area and saw Less Than Jake more times than any other band during the late 90s/early 2000s. They were touring machines. Even played local one off shows at VFW halls on their off nights from warped tour. Always had killer openers too (new found glory when they still had “a”, Cooter, home grown, etc.) It was such a special time. Are they still good live? Might have to check this out.
did anyone get to go to any of these dates, i hit up both shows when they came to chicago! one night showoff opened which was rad and then the next night into it over it opened and that was also rad Less Than Jake playing ‘Losing Streak’ & ‘Hello Rockview’ in full on 2016 tour (dates) (brooklynvegan.com)
I used to blast this, Goldfinger's Greatest Hits album, and Reel Big Fish's "Why Do They Rock So Hard?". On my shitty little boombox on summer days hanging out at the pool. I'm definitely going to catch the Chicago or the Detroit date.
"...And this is no more right than saying all teenagers are drunken dope addicts who are glue sniffers" Still makes me laugh every time I hear it.
I remember when a little band called blink-182 opened for them too. They still put on a super high energy good time--highly recommend seeing them!!
heard em both in 2016! Less Than Jake Concert Setlist at Double Door, Chicago on March 4, 2016 | setlist.fm
This was my 3rd time seeing them, first time on the rock view run and both were played Less Than Jake Setlist at The Vanderbilt, Plainview I remember them stopping the show about half way through when an overzealous security guard threw one of the horn players off the stage during one of the songs they didn’t play on. Chris lost his shit and the whole band stormed off. I don’t remember how long it was but it felt like an eternity until they finally came back out and said security was relieved if their duties that night. Then another time on Long Island they blew up the pa system. I’m realizing how many weird stops to their show I’ve seen.
