Seemed like she could hear her to me, it showed the bunker door wide open and you could hear the mother yelling for her while the kid was in the bunker

 

I mostly loved this but thought the concept of making the characters "weird for the sake of weird" wasn't necessary and made the movie drag.

Overall the tone/atmosphere was great and this was very suspenseful and im down for anything Esmail wants to try next. Love end of the world movies where were left in the dark of whats happening so..

 

Who was weird other than the daughter(s)??

 

All of them...or bad acting...or bad writing. No one was acting normal or rational. Every character was acting vague and I figured that was on purpose

 

Yeah I honestly thought the acting seemed bad/off up until the third act.

 

Yes! Like when Ethan explains to Julia that he’ll be making burgers for dinner and he asks her for help. The dialogue just felt so, so unnatural. This whole movie felt like it was written, directed, and acted by AI.

 

This was enjoyable.

 

Felt pretty obvious they were all going to end up in the bunker together no? The mom was literally walking towards the house.

 

Eh, something could have gone wrong with the dads and sick son, the door could have locked behind the kid, etc. Wasnt clear enough for me. And I'd just like more details of the overall world.

 

yeah that’s just kinda asking for a different movie entirely, which is fine, just not what this movie was doing.

 

I also just wanted more Mr. Robot easter eggs lol that had me geeking out

 

I never finished that show..

 

It's so good man. If season 2 was too slow for you, that's okay, the rest is a hell of a ride and s2 is great on a binge watch, it just sucked waiting week to week

 

it’s on the list, just need to get to it at some point.

 

Yeah this is very obviously what the ending is setting up lol they also see the bike trail going to the house and Ali/Hawke also will eventually end up there. It ultimately is kinda a happy ending all things considered lol

 

I also found it so dumb that they kept audibly wondering what was going on in the city the whole movie only to reveal that they are next door to a house that has a full view of it lmfao

 

Also they all clearly have radiation poisoning and are all going to die anyways right? I mean that's gotta be what's up with the son. Lyme disease doesn't make your teeth fall out

 

Hah yeah I don't think that was a vague ending in that sense. Its not like SAW where the door closed behind her and a timer went off or something lol

Didn’t love this story, but I respect the performances and esmail’s awesome eye for visuals as usual.

 

This kind of lost me in the 3rd act when I was pretty engrossed before then.

 

I ended up liking this a lot more than I expected based on the reception. I was hoping for the Friends DVD to show up eventually.

 

Meh. Had much higher hopes for this and was really let down by the 2nd half.
