Was a fan of the hush sound back in the day and thought I’d check this out..... and oooooh boy, this is NOT that.
Hmmm, that was a surprise hahah, haven't followed them for a while, and this is just funny. What a snarky way to start a record... and yeah, this is definitely not Hush Sound. I'd love to get back to some of their records but I'll have to retrive them from my parents' house (oooor no, just checked and it's on Spotify). Is Greta up to anything as well?
Okk I went further into the album, and I really don't know what's going on. Woah. This is something else, in a I'm-not-sure way ;d hahah
She actually joined Vampire Weekend back in 2018 as a touring member which is rad! Supposedly, she's a relative of Ezra from VW.
Went back to check it all out and hell yeah she's definitely all in, playing guitar, keys and singing, doing a hell of a good job ;D I've also just googled some stuff and found out she's my age hehe, changed her name on the way, reminded myself of her band Gold Motel, which I had just forgotten, but also found some new stuff - Springtime Carnivore, which is also one of her more recent projects and it might be good, as well as a duet album on Polyvinyl with La Sera's Katy Goodman, covering a bunch of punk classics. I need to listen to that right now! ;D
Hell yeah! I've been following her for a while now since I love her work in general and it'S been solid across all fronts. I wish Gold Motel took off since there are some seriously great songs on it but stoked for her being in VW!
