They were fucking incredible last night at Forecastle, it was my first time seeing them. I've come around about the new songs quite a lot and wow "Call the Police" was something else live. I think we got the same setlist as Pitchfork the night before, except we also got an encore, which James said was the first time they'd ever done an encore at a festival. There is no mention anywhere on their site, official social media accounts or anything that this band is even releasing an album. Everything I've heard about it has been through third parties. Considering how many people are waiting with bated breath for this album to drop its insane how mum they've been about it.
I think it's really great that he wants to get the album to fans as soon as possible, so he is doing everything as fast as he can.... but there still is something to be said about a good, well planned out rollout
I don't know, this year especially has made me wonder if the art of the rollout has been completely forgotten.
There were still some good rollouts. Manchester Orchestra did it really well, and umm uhh I forget who else haha
Honestly I don't give a fuck about album roll outs. But I do appreciate good artwork, and that right there is dog shit.
