Its definitely just a single. I don't think the album will follow quickly after. Looking forward to it but feels like the timeline hasn't been well executed.
Interested! I have fallen out of listening to CHVRCHES lately but I should fix that. Haven't really listened to Screen Violence after not enjoying the previous one too much
i was stupidly going off a reddit post assuming there was an album in tow. single makes way more sense given how weird this rollout has been lol. SV is pretty easily my favorite CHV record. highly recommend giving it another shot.
She’s still in the studio working on the album, it probably won’t be done before the tour, so we’re lookin at 2024 I think.
i guess it wouldn't be chorus fm if people weren't complaining about rollouts that barely existed before last month
Right, it’s definitely not weird at all to announce solo shows before anyone even has any idea you’re working on solo music.
Y’all are coming off sort of aggressive over such a throwaway comment lol I find it weird that she announced an entire solo tour out of the blue without even a hint prior that she was working on stuff outside the band. Very confused about how that equals complaining. Still very excited for new music.
@shea or myself hardly complained, just commented on the execution of the rollout so far. The tour dates leaked without any prior knowledge that there was a solo project coming. The dates have went on sale without a single being out or any confirmation when it would be announced. These have sold well on the basis that Lauren is in Chvrches and people are understandably excited and giving their buy in. However, there are those, like me, that would prefer to hear something before committing nearly £30 for a show that you don't know how much there will be of music. As an aside, I don't think seeing something live is the best way to consume something new. The single has then been available for a 'pre-save' without a release date. Lauren hinted on her Discord that she had no control over this but has confirmed she is still in the studio which places further doubt over what exactly these live shows will look like. I am looking forward to Lauren solo stuff but think everyone is used to rollouts that have set timeline and this doesn't seem to be. It's a fair discussion point but it wouldn't be chorus fm without a moan right?
