Ohh she played I Hate Chicago with Against Me! at Wicker Park Fest. I thought it was just a little one off song they did for fun but I had no idea it was going to end up on this!

Yea this is a jam. And it makes sense why she wanted to go the "solo record" route with this instead of Against Me! You can definitely hear her Mountain Goat type influences in this

Another new song (finally). This one is really cool too. A little more in line with a typical AM! song, but with a more chill vibe. This album should be great.

 

I love how informed this album is by Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever. Can only be a good thing.

Digging this

 

I am a fan. Despite being different, I like these songs significantly more than Shape Shift With Me - Definitely some more of the rawness that I've always loved about LJG's songwriting ability.

That said, while I love the song - I Hate Chicago is heartbreaking to hear as a life-time Chicagoan (dead on about the traffic & Bridgeport though - preach Laura!)

 

As a life-long south sider, Bridgeport is awesome.

But so is this song.

 

I thought this album came out yesterday so when I saved it on Apple Music to only find out it wasn’t released I got super bummed. I haven’t listened to the NPR stream, but I’m really looking forward to this.

 

It's really good. Was hoping for more aggressive songs overall but it's a really strong album regardless.

 

Some cool stuff on here, but this isn't grabbing me on first listen. My favorite songs so far are probably the singles.
