Can't believe it took 10 years but we finally got Laura Jane sharing the stage with Mikey Erg and playing Against Me! songs last night. Show was absolutely excellent and they even played the whole new album in order which was unexpected. I'd assume they'll do the same set tonight but really hoping they mix it up a bit.

 

I really like this. Not sure if it beats her last LP (the one with the blue ashtray). Forget its name

 

Yeah I'm really into this album, more songs should have obvious Cheap Trick references

 

This is so great, I've been obsessed with the singles, and the full album did not disappoint. Stay Alive was really special to me and this is another win. Can't wait for the show tonight!

 

Most of the songs on this album Laura's been playing live for awhile so I was already familiar with them but three of them (Mercenary, Keep Your Wheels Straight, and Hard Feelings) I hadn't heard before til I got the vinyl the other day. Last night Laura and Mikey played the whole album in order so I recorded those three songs so others could enjoy them.

Give up the Ghost is so so good

 

This is a really cool record. I revisited her first two solo albums before this and they're both great, but something here feels like it has a slight edge

 

This is by far her best solo album. Since the Tom Gabel EP at least.

 

Has the most Against Me vibes, to me, compared to her other albums.

 

You could just say the Heart Burns EP and not drop her dead name

I really adore this. I do like that there's a couple more loud tracks, and that she tried some new things. But damn can she also just write a great song with her voice, lyrics, and an acoustic guitar.

Super fun watch this morning. Black Me Out is in the highest tier a song can be in for me. Whenever I hear the opening lick I'm immediately locked in for the next 3 minutes
