Nothing crazy, but she's confirmed on Patreon and in person that the band is on an indefinite hiatus and, while she'd love to get back with the band and play again, with touring in Covid-times it's just not as feasible as solo shows and she's just more interested in making solo records at the moment. She has mentioned before that there was a bit of a wall when making AM! records the last few times and that it's just easier for her to do it this way for the time being, so I would imagine it's better mentally to take the time and do things the way she wants to until the time is right.
I'm not sure what the Covid reference is. Every other band is touring......it may not have been as feasible in 2021, but how is that applicable to 2023-24 ??
Yeah, granted that part of the reasoning was in (late?) 2021 I think and I don't believe it's come up again, but I think with all that downtime the rest of the band knew it wasn't happening anytime soon and needed to find other work. I think it still comes down to the fact that she can't really see a way to foot the bill for the band and crew to try and make that happen. Same thing with recording, since they are under Total Treble. It's easier for her to do things on her own in a stripped down fashion because she's got very few people to pay at that point. I just hope it can be figured out one day because I'd kill for a new AM! record
Made it to Gainesville in time to see Laura Jane get the key to the city which was super cool. I took video of her speech to send to a friend who couldn't make it and then realized other people might like to see it too so enjoy though apologies for the potato quality.
