Joining this thread as I’ve become huge on latin music this year. I’ll post some faves this week for sure. It’s actually my turn in the “Chorus record of the week” thread and I’ve chosen an Argentine rock album from the 70’s by Litto Nebbia. One artist that has become immensely meaningful to me. We desperately need new blood in that thread, so welcoming y’all there to discuss if you’d like (the OP isn’t fully updated, fyi) Chorus.fm Record of the Week Club • Page 62 • forum.chorus.fm
anyone check out that Meridian Brothers album from this year? it fucking rocks. would've made my list had I known about it earlier in the year (I think I like their last one more but this is still dope)
some recent favs incredible Chilean guitarist's album from the 90's that hits a similar space as Paul Simon's The Rhythm of the Saints. touches on a lot of sounds but mostly subdued, jazzy, and soulful. dude was also part of a funk-rock/hip-hop group called Los Tetas. his other albums are different, but this is what introduced me to him Argentine prog-folk artist Mirtha Defilpo. she used to be married to another Argentine legend Litto Nebbia, who is one of my faves (and my current choice for the Chorus Album of the Week thread), and they collab on this album. this album is so dope, almost reminds me of a latin american Circa Survive precursor from the 70's.
Hi latin music fam. I want to plug our lovely forum’s “album of the week” thread. It works like a book or film club but for albums. We switch every week. They usually rule and we get some great, often obscure, picks. Hoping to get more discussion there (and we always want more international stuff!) so if you’re interested, feel free to join and say hi. Chorus.fm Record of the Week Club • forum.chorus.fm
been a bit since I've posted here but I'm going to continue spamming with recent discoveries recently reissued. listened to this on an 8.5 mile run and it completely set me ablaze
