I really liked this, borderline loved it. Really hope it has legs before it hits Shudder.

Also, our theater was cracking up at the number of production title cards that ran before the movie. After awhile, it felt like they were just making up names and animations.

It was funny how many there were, but then I watched Anatomy of a Fall and it has just as many. Plus the text on the screen AFTER the 9 logos.

  10. Unsurprisingly had a blast with this. Dastmalchian is really, really great. What a sweet trilogy we have between Ghostwatch, WNUF Halloween Special (not to mention Out There Halloween Mega Tape), and this.

  11. Resident coward here asking for y'alls opinion - too scary to watch alone?

Not at all, isn’t scary for the most of the runtime, imo

It gets freakier as it goes on. If you don’t like worms, have your hand on the remote.

  14. Nah, you got it. It's not like a jump scare movie and there's only one big gross-out practical effects. It's more unsettling than anything. Ghostwatch actually scared me a lot more because it felt so real

I like that the twist in this that his wife got cancer because he made a deal with Satan in exchange for fame is obvious from the opening exposition drop, but it's so good that you don't care.

I am glad I am not the only one who thought this was weird. Two straight minutes of production logos before this movie started. I thought I was going insane.

  20. I was a little down on the CG effects on first watch, but the way she looks when her head splits open is so sick lol real cosmic horror shit

Yeah, some of the effects look pretty… not bad, but camp?

The only effects I thought looked bad was the cgi black vomit.

The third act made this worth watching, haha. Unfortunately it took me until about halfway through the movie to get on board but I still had a blast.

Very cool movie, just took way too long for anything to happen
