Sometimes I lean over to my sister and whisper "Let me be your hero" just because I can. Also it's my lifelong dream to be the Hero girl that gets called on stage and he serenades them and kisses them at the end of the song. Goals.
For the most part, I do not believe in the term "guilty pleasure" in any traditional sense. But that song is one.
Actually, edit. I want to say that Hero has to be one of the funnest karaoke songs ever. I deserve an oscar and a grammy every time I sing that song because I sell it like I need to run to the desert and save Enrique from Micky Rourke myself
Oh god do you guys remember when they released that version of "Hero" with 9/11 phone calls played throughout any instrumental break
I'll have to see if I can find it anywhere. They played it on the radio a lot. I'm almost wondering if it might've been a regional thing. PS @Kiana I made a skincare/beauty/make-up thread in general!
Yeah so I can't find any specific articles, but according to Wikipedia it was chosen by radio DJs in New York and they remixed it with audio from politicians, firefighters, police officers, and civilians who were there. Just thinking about it is making me pretty teary. It was fucking brutal. We would change the station whenever it came on.
Okay so, I've gotta post this video here. This is the most late 90s/early 00s pop music video to ever exist.
I've never listened to a full Jessica Simpson album but I honestly really like every single of hers that I've ever heard. She's a terrible dancer tho. Thank god she didn't try that for long
She took that "I'm so sexy" breathy thing Britney did and somehow did it loud and belt-Y. She was such an odd singer
That reminds me, I was listening to the Lando playlist on Star Wars Spotify a couple weeks ago and it's full of late 90s and 2000s R&B jams. Blu Cantrell's "Hit Em Up Style" was a welcome throwback Playlist for those interested:
Best night of my life was convincing my friend to sing "What Would You Do?" by City High at karaoke and she got super serious about it and the whole place went fucking wild for it
Howie has been consistently screwed as a member of BSB, it's just keeping up tradition. Also is that Erik from fucking O-Town all the way on the right?!
I was toying around with making a Disney music thread because some of it is just so fucking good. I could write a dissertation on "I'll Make A Man Out Of You"
That is totally fair game to discuss in the thread, too. It doesn't all have to be serious critical discussion of his "art". You can be like "Remember that blast of a Disney song?"
