I'm super fascinated by how songs are pitched to people, like what Sia does now.
like "Toxic"? Originally for Kylie Minogue.

I love this song and I love Christina's diva hand/arm movements.

 

Yeah, they didn't like that it implied domestic abuse. Max Martin, being Swedish, genuinely had no idea about the insinuation when he offered it to TLC, Backstreet Boys, then Britney.

Still, lol at Simon Cowell for attempting to steal it for 5ive.

 

Toxic and BOMT are too iconic for me to imagine anyone else singing them. With some things I kinda see it. Like kelly's ms independent being for xtina originally, I can see how it might have worked for Stripped. And that Selena gomez song that was originally by brit has brit's fingerprints all over it so it's a trip to listen to.

 

I can kind of see Kylie Minogue singing "Toxic" cause she has a similar voice style, but compared to 2004 Kylie, "Toxic"'s style doesn't really mesh.
