She's a solid artist actually. Always loved this one, co-written by her bf at the time, Stephen Jenkins from Third Eye Blind. You can definitely hear it in both the melody and lyrics.
My favorite thing that I've recently learned was that Simon Cowell attempted to steal "...Baby One More Time" from Britney. He tried to bribe Max Martin with a $125,000 Benz because Simon wanted it for 5ive. Max offered him "Bye Bye Bye" instead because he promised the song to Britney. But 5ive hated the demo, called it shitty, and didn't want it, even though Simon loved it. What a fail.
Simon Cowell's biography -- I read it so you don't have to! Exclusive Q&A: Simon Cowell on One Direction's Rise to Stardom - Rolling Stone He sounded so annoyed that he lost "Bye Bye Bye"
I'm gonna keep it real idek if it's good cause at the first note I got super excited and paused it to post it here lol
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TIZFO2W/?tag=absolutepunk-20 I just want to say that this book explains SO MUCH about pop music in the last 20 years and a lot of it talks about how 95% of pop music today can be traced back to Denniz PoP and Max Martin. Super interesting to read.
I always liked Pink casually when I was younger but now it seems like she releases the same corny empowerment cliche anthems over and over and over like I legit cannot tell a lot of her songs apart.
I can't even imagine what a state Baby One More Time would've come out as if 5ive had eneded up with it.
