I'm not sure any of these groups would get enough conversation to have their own threads, but I still thought this would be fun to have. Discussion including, but not limited to: Spice Girls Backstreet Boys NSYNC Destiny's Child S Club 7 Westlife Steps Britney Spears Take That
This was one of the first tapes I owned back in like 1997. I think the little "traditional" Irish bit in the middle is absolutely brill, even now. It's fairly laced with innuendos that you don't pick up on as a 7 year old though...
That was originally going to be a single, right? I was actually just talking about how "Have You Ever" was moved up as a single in response to 9/11 and them continuing to try and break into the American market @schlotty I saw him when he was in Seussical on Broadway way back when
I love the opening spoken line of "some people say I look like me dad" Also, was the are you serious at me or schlotty?
On a B*Witched kick now, the video for their song Rollercoaster features one of them in a denim hat, jacket and jeans. The elusive triple denim combo.
I spend way too much time thinking about what "Gone" would've sounded like if either NSYNC had convinced Michael Jackson to sing on the track with all of them or if MJ had convinced Justin to just do it as a duet with him.
I was afraid to make S Club 7, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Westlife, and Spice Girls threads haha. Plus this allows for more discussion in terms of the general influence of that era, success post-era, etc.
Probably. I'm especially taken by how Westlife was able to sustain and continued to find ways to make themselves relevant up until they disbanded semi-recently. Also how Backstreet Boys don't seem to realize nostalgia is carrying their career.
I spent an listening to "Only Hope" on repeat last night. The world is ready for a new Mandy Moore album
For a while she was implying she was working on one. And lately those implications have turned into implying that she wants to get back into music again. So I'm slightly confused
My best guess has been that she was working with Ryan, recording in his studio, maybe writing with him... and then, well yeah.
