I would always give Soderbergh a shot.

 

I'd say the trailers are actively misleading as to the tone of the movie tbh, I had a blast.

 

When in doubt, Soderbergh is always worth your time. Dude’s an interesting artist even when he doesn’t fully succeed

 

Black bag will probably be in my top 10 of the year.

 

Thank god he didn’t actually retire like he was supposedly going to. I think we’ve gotten Logan Lucky, Unsane, High Flying Bird, Let Them All Talk, No Sudden Move, and Presence all since he said he was going to. What a run.

also given my XXL advocacy I have no idea how I haven’t checked out Magic Mike’s Last Dance, even though what I heard doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence.

 

I never finished Last Dance. Unsane was also pretty bad.

Agreed Soderbergh is always one to watch though. Good or bad, it’s interesting at least.

 

Well he did actually retire. It was just really short.

 

The Laundromat sucked, too.

 

Command Z was pretty bad.

 

Logan Lucky was good. Did not like Kimi or no sudden move. Haven’t seen the others mentioned.

 

i remember one of my grad school professors highly recommending The Laundromat, urging us all to watch it, but i never got around to it

 

Didn't care for the last Magic Mike.

Thought Unsane was pretty good tho.

 

Gonna be a reallll stinker here and say I don’t think I’ve ever loved a Soderbergh film. Liked all that I’ve seen (I guess Out of Sight is my favorite?) but none have blown me away or put him in the upper echelon.

 

Part of his appeal is his ability to do basically any genre, tone, or style as capably or more than anyone. His formal and technical skill is elite even if he’s not making anything as impactful as the Godfather or something. That being said he has some wild misses that I still appreciate.

 

I respect him, I just don’t think of him/his films very often.

 

Soderbergh is also like the only dudes rock director who is completely unproblematic, Kimi play Sabotage

 

Maybe Sex, Lies or King of the Hill will do it for me

 

I legitimately love Ocean’s 11

 

I haven’t seen the Oceans since I was a kid. They were fun, maybe I’ll rewatch

 

Underrated / under discussed Soderbergh: Side Effects

 

Need to watch The Knick some day

 

Che made it onto one of tetras lists

 

I watched Snow White earlier and it's way better than I thought it would be and Rachel Ziegler doesn't the meaning of the saying "phoning it in" she was easily the best thing about this film and I didn't mind the Seven Dwarfs being CGI, they were fun and Marc Webb did a good job directing this film.. hopefully we'll get to see him direct smaller films in the vain of a 500 Days of Summer or Gifted in the near future.

Films r subjective! I actually enjoyed this live action Snow White film! Although one thing is for sure when the trailers were shown before the film started.. Lilo and Stitch got the biggest laughs in the audience from kids and their parents.. don't be surprised if that film will be a huge summer hit
