Transformers: The Last Knight - 4/5 stars. Incredible. Kicking myself for skipping this one in theaters. 2017 was long before I became Bay-pilled
Enys Men - 6/10 Looks beautiful, almost gets there, but there's just not enough substance or scares to make the film really work.
I was excited when the first scare happened outside at night but then it never really happened again lol
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is about as good as non-Spielberg Indy could be. It's burdened by all the flaws of modern movies (and a few fumbles that surprised me from Mangold, who I generally like) but it was actually fun once it got to the present tense of the story and was a sweet send-off to a character I love. Harrison Ford makes it work by sheer force of will at points.
Where did you watch this? The trailer is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. I think I saw it before Skinamarink.
The new TMNT movie was really fun! And looked really good, too. It's like Barbie in that it feels modernized and yet still very nostalgic at the same time
Airplane! is up there with the best Mel Brooks films, it stands next to Jackass and The Simpsons seasons 3-10 as a pinnacle of American comedy
I am always surprised how many people put the tenth season of The Simpsons in the golden age. It is a noticeable step down, and you can already see it happening in season 8.
It's nostalgic and good enough imo, season 11 feels like the tipping point where plotlines and jokes are more miss than hit
Agreed. I’m not saying 10 is as good as 3-8, but it’s still very funny. 11 is when it started to turn.
I watched a recent Treehouse of Horror based on a best of list and it was solid but still not up to par with the golden years. I'll just never get used to seeing like...iphones in a Simpsons episode
Cobweb - 6/10 I mostly enjoyed this. for a mainstream horror movie, it’s not bad but it’s nothing exceptional either
Haunted Mansion (2023) - 6/10 Truly deranged levels of product placement in this, but if you can get past how distracting that is, there's a good amount of fun to be had. Danny DeVito rocks
