A lot of people have some explaining to do. So when are we actually going to try this? Right now is a perfect time with end of the year top tens.
I would love to do this but also do not want to presume that anyone would want to hear me talk about the shitty movies I like
Haha this is actually a fun exercise for the thread: what are the most polarizing films you love, and what are the most beloved that you hate? I have Donnie Darko in my top five of all-time, and as for films I can't stand, it's a little horror-centric based on how much I watch, but The Mist, Zombie's Halloween 2, and I'm Thinking of Ending Things are all one-star experiences for me.
Hate you for this one. I guess shit like mother!, The Neon Demon, Gummo, Nymphomaniac, all some of my all time favourites that I think are pretty divisive if not mostly hated. I can sort of see what people love in them but certain films like Jeanne Dielman, Stalker and Werckmeister Harmonies mostly bore me.
I watched Stalker way before I probably should have so I didn't really appreciate it as much as some other Tarkovsky films but it could be that it's just not for me
I've only seen that, Mirror and Ivans Childhood. I only enjoyed the latter. Stalker and Mirror both looked fantastic but I didnt get much out of them. I've wanted to revisit his stuff to see if it does more for me now but I also don't want another long boring experience.
Unpopular Entertainment Opinions • forum.chorus.fm By all means, keep the discussion in here flowing organically, it's just, there is a thread for that haha
Movies with over 3.0/5 on Letterboxd that I hate: The Graduate Taken She's the Man The Mitchells vs The Machines Bohemian Rhapsody Now You See Me Free Guy Meet the Parents Toy Story 4 Blazing Saddles The Last Black Man in San Fransisco Coda Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist
I stopped watching Paddington 2 after 15mins, Mum wanted to stop after 7mins, I said it comes highly recommended from Tim so Im prepared to give it 20mins but I had to pull the plug after the barbershop scene. Very disappointed in Tim, glad he moved 2 hours away, has no friends there and his house flooded.
He said not to bother with Paddington 1 It really felt like betrayal after his last recommendation Good Boys was a smash hit. Knife in my spine, for 15 minutes.
The first Paddington was better because the joke is "oh this talking bear movie is kind of good" and then you don't have much more to do.
