Depends what you're listening on. I'm generally using Spotify so it scrobbles right from the app.

 

Nothing compares to Spotify for scrobbling

 

Spotify scrobbling broke over the summer I thought. At least on the web app it does.

But I use the music app on my iPhone. Most my music is actual mp3s

 

It was only the web app. Desktop app and phone app still work perfectly.

 

Well at still doesn’t solve my problem of scrobbling my plays without having to remember to plug my phone in.

Spotify still scrobbles automatically on phone and desktop. I'm pretty sure you have to get the iPhone last.fm app and listen to all your music through there if you're not using spotify

 

I don’t listen to music through Spotify that often except for music discovery and never on my phone.

 

I mean I think using spotify on your phone might be the only solution.

 

i use the spotify phone app and desktop app at work and both scrobble perfect

 

If you are using Apple Music, QuietScrob is an app that works great for anything that you have in your library. Doesn't work on anything not in your library, however.

 

I used QuietScrob for 8 months or so and it worked great. I recently bought Eavescrob though and I find it a lot better. Sleeker interface, easier to see your lastfm page. Just a much better app.

 

I use the Last.FM iPhone app for my Apple Music/library plays. It doesn’t do it automatically though. I open the app up about once a week to “batch” the scrobbles. It’s not a big deal.

 

For some reason Last.fm doesn't always scrobble every song I play even I finish the song completely. It's been pretty hit or miss lately.

are groups still a thing? I poked around some but can't find them.

 

Not now, sadly. You can access them in read-only on the old website and the staff supposedly plan to bring them back "in the coming months" but it's been 2.5 years already... I miss the AP.net group :(
