I wish I liked them as much as I used to. Always a track or two on the last couple of releases I enjoy but the last two were so flat to me. Two of these new songs are pretty good - but the original Soft have me nothing.
They should’ve released these 5 as a new EP. I think I’m doing alright and prettiest thing I’ve ever seen are better than most of the original album, but I doubt they’ll ever be on vinyl as just a deluxe
It seems like they’re getting more popular where I am. In 2022 they played at a 1,500 capacity club, last year they played at a 6,000 capacity music center, and today they announced a 15,000 capacity arena show.
Doing Alright and Prettiest Thing I’ve Ever Seen are as good as Destiny (catchiest song they’ve released since Dancing in the Kitchen, imo) and Act My Age. I’m not sure if I’d put Soft above A Beautiful Blur, but I’ve come around to all of their recent albums. I’d probably put them all (gg bb xx, a beautiful blur, soft) above mama’s boy
Seems like the algorithm has been working for them , I never hear about them anymore but those are big numbers!
They're huge in the Asian community; at my show here in Oslo a few years ago, a majority of the crowd it felt like was Asian, haha
