I'm going tonight in Glasgow so will report back on the shitshow

 

Zero effort bare minimum is a great description of her live performances

 

This was the first time I had seen her live and I have mixed feelings but Glasgow clearly went better than Cardiff. She stayed here for a year previously so has some sort of kinship with the city.

I think the actual production and staging is cool. Her band and backing singers sound good and in general it sounds good.

I think what lets it down is the setlist and choice of songs. She seems to indulge for her own pleasure with her choices and the show doesn't have a flow or rhythm because of that. Maybe the Eras tour ruined what is 'value' but I just don't think she offers value for money. The fact she only was on stage for 1h 20m and 15mins of that was spent with the strange hologram thing that played NFR/Arcadia over the PA.

The longer story of what my friend is talking about is that she just sat on the stage and was signing autographs and talking to fans and not singing any of the songs lol Waste of time and money

 

Hopefully Ethel comes back with diss track of her own and we get an diss track battle.. I miss a good diss track battle!

Ethel had a bunch of problematic tweets from when she was a teenager get dug up recently, I would hope it’s from back then and not recently

 

Ethel is really stepping in it lately…hopefully these aren’t recent tweets by her. If it is, she seems like a dirtbag.

 

I've been following her for three years and I've never seen anything like that. People on her reddit who are probably way more knowledgeable about her posts didn't seem to know anything about them either.

 

Yeah I have not seen those supposed posts from Ethel either and no one oh her subreddit or pop forums and subredddits have any idea about them either. I’m going to hold off judgement until more comes out personally.

 

Not worth linking the posts, but why does the worst person always insert herself into situations that do not involve her because Nicki Minaj is going off on X right now about this and turning it into a bigger thing than it needs to be (because her stans are...a bit much)

While I don’t want to necessarily assume the intention behind the post, I can pretty easily see why Lana would have an issue with it. Her weight became “a thing” a number of years ago.

 

i can't find it, but someone else pointed to a tweet where someone said "Lana Del Rey walked so Ethel Cain could run", and Hayden replied to it saying "i pushed her over when i ran past" and "she'll never catch up to me in her Macy's dress". i can see how that could be interpreted as fatphobic, but part of it reads more like personal annoyance. idk.

 

i sincerely would not read any of those posts as about her weight

Either way, can she play some proper U.S. dates? She hasn't played the NYC area since 2019.
