Love the new single but stylistically she’s been very stagnant since NFR.

I posted in the Bleachers thread, but they have a song called Margo that was in the soundtrack to a movie, and they played a new version of it on a recent tour, so if that somehow became a Lana song I'm going to be very confused

I really hope Grandfather Please Stand on the Shoulders of My Father While He's Deep-Sea Fishing becomes my favorite song ever

I feel like Blue Banisters came and went so quickly and didn't really leave a mark. Personally I didn't care for it, but I find it interesting how I never saw anything about it after it came out, no end of year lists, not even the thread on this site barely talked about it

It was good (a smidge better than Chemtrails in my book) but stylistically pretty much identical to other recent work, of which there's been no shortage.

I was eh on Blue Banisters at first but ended up really enjoying it, although it is exactly like the two prior albums she released.

Blue Bannisters is amazing and is probably in my favorite half of Lana albums at this point. It only really stumbles on its first three songs. Not that any are bad but they're all very long and slow and kind of odd right in a row at the beginning, but it gets pretty special starting with the interlude.

I also continue to disagree that her last three albums all sound the same. There's similarities for sure but they each have their own identity.

I just feel like you need to dig SO deep to find the differences. Casual fans mostly would say they sound the same, it's only the big fans that have listened over and over again who think their district.

Well that may be idk. What I hear is NFR being very orchestral, COTCC being more guitar based and has a country feel, and BB driven by piano. I guess the songwriting is similar, but even then I don't find that big a fault because it's only been like 3 and a half years of that sound. It's only noticeable because of how much she releases

But you are right that I'm biased as hell so maybe I just hear something different

I thought there was another album after NFR and this one, haha. So I guess for me it's just the last two that are interchangable. I also think Honeymoon and Ultraviolence are basically the same as each other though, so what do I know

Honeymoon is orchestral and Ultraviolence is all guitars!

I don't hear the similarities in those albums at all but I digress. Which ones are your favorites then?
