I don't feel like it's going to perform well commercially either. I think it'll chart at 1 on the charts because there is literally zero competition (probably why that day was chosen), but none of the album singles are doing/did well, and I doubt the sales numbers will be impressive
The one time I heard her single on at a store she legit sounded like Dracula. She needs to relax with the weird vocal affectations. Idk why she does that.
for sure. The album version sounds just a little too much like that Christmas carol "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" to me
hmmm thats interesting. i think her vocals are one of the worst parts of this thing. her vocal affections as kiana said are just....like why does she sing the way she does sometimes? these fake accents that aren't even reflecting any geographical location, they're just weird ways of pronouncing things...its distracting
i guess i shouldn't be surprised since she's been doing that since born this way. but with a more stripped back sound on some of the tracks its more noticeable than ever. i only listened once so i may have to give it another go and see if anything sticks
Starting to like Ayo a fair amount after my boss played it a few times this morning at work, but man do I wish a Gaga song would knock me on my ass like Bad Romance did.
I would say (beyond the fact it bores me) the most annoying thing is the "country" accent she puts on in most of this. It makes the whole album seem less genuine than other efforts and is probably a main reason Dancin in Circles is one of the only songs I can stomach
Just finished my first listen of this and I actually enjoyed it a good bit. Wasn't in love with it or anything, I've never been a huge Gaga fan and tbh this is the first full-length I've listened to from her, but her SNL performance caught my attention and I definitely think there are some interesting choices on this album. There's definitely a ballad or two too many, but I actually enjoy the country-western vibe haha
Even my parents who don't like much pop music grudgingly admitted she had a great halftime show. She did great.
I did fine and the vocals were of course on point but I was still kinda lowkey bored Forgive me Mother
