Lol hadn't really thought of it that way. I assumed "do what you want with my body" to be directed at the media - the way the media or internet will manipulate a celebrity's looks or image to fit whatever narrative they want anyways.
have you never heard r kelly before? he's a monster but in a vacuum he's undeniably a remarkable singer and talent
My experience with R Kelly was prettymuch limited to Ignition and stories about him peeing on someone. Really thought he was more of a mid-level R&B vocalist. That note in "Do What U Want" where he sings "we don't give a fuuuuuuuuck" is outrageous.
Yeah the main thing about this is that the big word for it is "boring". Which I never really thought I'd say about a Lady Gaga album either.
Say any (justified) things you want about R. Kelly, but he's incredibly talented. He also largely composes and produces his music himself FWIW.
Do What You Want with R Kelly and Terry was so messed up. idk what the end game was supposed to be. That's like rock bottom desperation for controversy.
I like this album but it definitely feels safe compared to her others. Idk if safe is the right word but I don't necessarily think it's boring.
Such a huge step down from ArtPop. It'll probably work out for her commercially, but there's not much here for me. :/
Probably won't be returning to most of this. I liked Come to Mama, Hey Girl and Perfect Illusion grew on me. But other than that gonna join the disappointed party
Probably my favorite Gaga album. I love the guitar work on Diamond Heart and John Wayne, I thought they had a Queens of the Stone Age vibe and then realized it's Josh Homme actually playing on the songs. The title track is very strong, fantastic chorus. Come to Mama is just pure Mark Ronson soul genius, def has the Amy Winehouse vibes.
Weird, I felt Dancin in Circles is the weakest song on the album, alsot sounds like a Gwen Stefani b-side, and the ode to masturbation is so over done in female pop.
