Not a horrible song, just a weak comeback after 3 years. Her voice definitely needed to be sharper to sell that hook better.
Yeah that chorus isn't too great, she def needed to go higher or something on it. It's not terrible per se but definitely not up to her usual standards. It'll probably grow on me a bit, I like the parts outside the chorus right now.
Man, I thought the combo of Gaga, Ronson, Bloodpop and Parker would be incredible. But this just sounds like her singing over some Tame Impala leftovers.

Definitely the most exciting part about this song. Pitchfork (lol) came hard with the snark on this one too.
I think perfect illusion would actually be good if not for the song ruining key change. that bridge could have transitioned into something else that's actually interesting and not jarring in the worst way. I think the reason the key change feels so horrible is because the build is so sudden and doesn't really build TO anything, the song starts out at 100 so them trying to take it to a higher level just feels silly as hell
