Was in Vegas this weekend and seeing the promo for Enigma was pretty exciting. Hope I can figure out a trip to see this next year.
i am very ready for the return of lady gaga. listening to the fame monster this morning and mannnnn it's so good.
So... my friends planned a trip to Vegas January 17 through 20th, and at first I was getting there really late Thursday night, so Saturday was the only option which was way too expensive, but now I could get a pit ticket for like $500 because I'm taking an earlier flight on Thursday, so it should give me enough time. I could also get a balcony ticket for like $300, but I'd be alone because none of my friends will pay that money for this, so I think I'd rather pay more for the pit ticket. I don't think I can pass it up. Edit: I did it and I have just slight guilt but I was super excited when I bought it so I am happy with my decision.
I think it's worth it if you can get them without having to deal with resale prices and stuff. I wish I could do the jazz and piano show too but I'm leaving early on the Sunday that she's doing it. And I mean if I had to choose I wanna do Enigma so I'm not too mad. I still can't believe I'm actually going to this.
I'll still never understand why she did the collab and why it took her this long to apologize, but I'm glad she addressed it. Would've been nice for her to appear in the documentary. Also, the song itself is so good. I really hope when she takes it down she replaces it with the Xtina version.
I think it's pretty cool she's trying to take the song down. I haven't really seen anyone else take that step yet (though I could be very wrong about that).
Sad because I fuckin love that song and still weird she did the collab in the first place but I guess better late than never, taking it down is a good step towards showing she means it.
I hate myself for thinking that it's being done now to not torpedo oscar potential. But I can't help it. However, an apology is an apology.
I honestly think Lady Gaga could have said absolutely nothing and been perfectly fine. This feels more like a genuine reflection on her part and a desire to act according to her beliefs. I mean were people actually bringing up this song recently? It's been 6 years. How many other people have released songs with R Kelly since and before then? Was it even this well known he was THIS big of a piece of shit back (genuine question)? I know he has always been sketch but I didn't realize the full extent of it until the last year or two.
A lot of people have been singling her out, recently because of the documentary ,I think because the song is so egregious and she's a feminist ally She's not the only big star to work with him and the human trafficking part was recent but it was known that he preyed on teenagers for awhile But she's not the only one to work with him and Ignition Remix was everywhere fairly recently
Got ya. Not saying she was right to work with him, but it seems silly to go back 6 years and blame her. What's especially weird to me is the public as a whole was not willing to write him off until now, but are going to come at her for it now? Idk like this feels like an issue to move forward on not look back. Unless someone like really recently worked with him (like in the last year or however long ago we first started hearing the sex trafficking stuff)
It was soooo unbelievably good. She really played every single hit and some old songs I never thought I’d actually get to hear (Beautiful Dirty Rich, Aura, Dance in the Dark, Government Hooker) Put a spoiler tag just in case. But also the whole production was just unreal now hopefully I can fend off my burning desire to go Saturday cus I can’t but I want to
