Wonder what this means for an LP4 announcement. EDIT: Per their mailing list - "Stay tuned for more! (soon, very soon)." And peep that remaster cover art:
Hell yeah. Never got it on vinyl so I'm excited. Still my favorite of theirs. Nostalgia definitely factors in to that. I don't think it's their best at all.
I've got a copy but I'll also need the 10th anniversary version haha. Last Lost Continent is still one of my favorite LD songs ever. Wildlife is my favorite record overall, but Somewhere is a close second for me.
Honestly, I need to hear THAT moment in TLLC remastered. I am ALL about this. Also they are playing Reading festival later this month so I wonder if this means they'll actually play something from it there, unlike last time where their setlist was a shit show.
Weird this is coming out in November. Surely they're not going to release a 10th anniversary re-release pretty much back to back to the new recordings? Does this mean the new album won't see the light of day until early 2019?
maybe this is after the new album? I honestly could see the album coming out in October. They are hinting at a new album announcement any day now.
Yes, true. I think that's the only way I can see this working. In my head it doesn't make financial sense to do a re-release then release a new album straight afterwards. The other way round with an October release could work. And in fact, in some ways, putting the pre-order for the re-release up first makes more sense financially as people will still pre-order the new album (but may not have pre-ordered the re-release if they'd announced that second).
It's also a good way to drum up nostalgia right before announcing the new album. You always see people wanting to buy a band's older albums on vinyl around when they announce their new one. This way people are buying from them instead of secondhand.
Disagree, first and only time seeing them so far and they played my 2 favourite songs of theirs + the songs from their split with Touche Amore. Which is good considering how early in the day they played.
man, to me this reads new album in 2019. feel like they couldn't put this off with the timing, but its easy to take your time on the new LP and let this hold fans over. hope im wrong.
That seems way more likely then releasing before. I've never heard of anyone announcing a re-release and then announcing an album that comes out before that release.
right right well they did so before the new one... which is good because that means new record can be released doesn’t make a lot of sense to create hype for a reissue then before releasing the reissue create hype for a new record then release the new record then the reissue hope I’m wrong tho
Yeah tbf that was harsh, Fruit is possibly my favourite track of theirs, and I love that split. I was just disappointed at the rest of it. Hopefully this is more of an even mix of their albums this year.
Yeah mewithoutYou announced it and released it the next week. It didn't interfere with scheduling as everything that has come out from within the camp has suggested that the new album will be late fall. This feels different but I still hope we hear it this year. If I was betting I'd say January 2019 though.
