Depending on whether or not they have label support already and subsequent rollout plans, I don't think we'll be seeing a release of this before probably June at the earliest.
This is a really bad generalization it takes all records about 5-6 months after recording to come out. The reason why you notice it with yip is bc he always posts exactly when he is done so you know the albums are done
everyone in here has listened to the movements lp from this year right? its def a good FFO la dispute rec... also will yip produced.
Did they cool it with the spoken word at all for the LP? Feel like they’d be super good if they toned that down
Movements? Yea it’s not as much of the spoken word, it still comes up every so often but I like it. Lots of songs that don’t have it at all tho
Alright cool then I’ll probably be into it. I liked the EP and their stray singles a bit but jesus when they did the spoken word parts was the cheesiest shif
Based on their name, I always thought they were a boring metalcore band or something. Maybe I'll check them out now
Hahaha I’m glad this keeps coming up. I think there are some bands who do it well, mostly based on the speakers inflection. I think Aaron Weiss does it well, because he basically just talks in rhythm. Likewise for Jordan dreyer from wildlife on and occasionally Geoff rickley. But, like, with movements it’s absurdly melodramatic and over the top - as if, like, Tommy Wiseau was the one reading the lyrics. It feels almost overacted
yeah I'm not gonna lie the spoken word really put me off the movements album, and I usually enjoy spoken word, even Listener.
Part of the reason I couldn’t get into a lot of ‘10s screamo like merchant ships and old gray and company
I guess I feel basically the same based on the ones you listed but I've yet to experience spoken word so cheesy that it ruined whatever I was listening to Though old gray came close on an autobiography
Legit they are a 16 year old after his first break up going through an emo phase reading his diary over American Football B-sides.
You should give this band a try 1) they’re actually good if you can get past the spoken word 2) you’ll finally get to experience spoken word to corny to listen through ;)
