Rooms, and this are so much more nuanced/concise records imo.

 

i have barely returned to this since release week and i'm incredibly bummed.

 

I recognize this as well, but doesn’t help me connect w this any more. Too bad.

I will say that if you listen to the entire album, the payoff that comes in the form of the opening of View from Our Bedroom is greater. So that’s neat.

Spotify has animations for every song featuring spinning crystals and they're really nice to look at.

 

Good read indeed! I’m warming to this album more.

 

Sucks that the LP break from side A to side B happens between In Northern Michigan & View. The link between those tracks is what makes each of them better. Bet they had a few convos when determining the sequencing.

I'd agree with your ranking although I don't think the bottom two are that great. They're solid with moments of greatness.

so stoked to see these guys for the first time tonight

 

Really love this album. It maybe doesn't hit me as heavily as the previous albums, but I've always struggled to go back to them frequently as I'd like, because they do such a number on me emotionally. The pacing and variation in Panorama lightens the listen (as much as is possible with LD), and it's actually opened the door to me listening to the old stuff more often too, and choosing to catch this round of touring.
