incredible album here, I'm so glad I just listened to Shaved My Head and held off on the rest of the pre releases because this thing tells a story. really feels like they brought together all their styles on this thing, even the last two songs with the Here Hear vibe

I've heard Act 1 and one listen to Environmental Catastrophe Film. The chatter in here is super exciting, gonna wait until I have an hour and dive in.

I listened to part 1 a few months ago and chose to wait till yesterday to hear the rest. This is so so good. I was worried because I really wasn’t feeling part 1 after my listen. There are so many great songs. I Dreamt of a Room With All My Friends is my favorite so far

  5. this is really dense with great songs. I can see why they released it the way they did even though I'd prefer to have the whole thing and find a way to work through it myself. my partner grabbed the LP for me — I think I'll really be able to dig in with the natural 4-side separation.

this album has the same narrative sprawl as wildlife with many of the same sonic touchstones as rooms. in other words, it’s peak

Absolutely next level. I don't really have the words to describe how good this is (because Jordan Dreyer used up all the words on this album and there are none left).

This is so unbelievably dense and emotional. That fire he had inside from Wildlife is still burning with the power of 1,000 suns.

Went on a four-mile walk and threw this album on. It’s so great, but so devastatingly heavy. I like all their albums, but I honestly have a hard time going back to them because they’re so emotionally hard hitting. But there’s something so peacefully satisfying about going deep into nature and throwing this on front to back.

  9. still putting my thoughts together on this. While the entire band is at their individual and collective peaks here, Adam and Chad really are on another level together compared to the previous albums imo

Just took this on a walk. Listened to the first 3 songs thinking 'can't believe no one has mentioned how bad the production is' before realizing my headphones are broken. Gonna try again tomorrow.

It was weird succumbing to pre-listen to all the released parts one by one, and then only add 2 songs for the final sit-down, but I loved it - I did it with the lyrics in front of me this time around for the first complete listen, and it was very compelling. Brilliant record, it will definitely take me some time to understand all of it

Successfully listened tonight. Its a lot to take in in a very positive way. Feels like after Somewhere at the Bottom... and Wildlife, they changed directions a bit and this is going back and continuing on down that road. Lots of standouts but Top Sellers Banquet and I Dreamt of a Room are the most impactful.

The flow of Top Sellers Banquet when the bass kicks in is from another dimension. That filthy bassline combined with the snap of the snare, the handclaps and the swirling guitars is a banquet in itself. Then you have Jordan's scathing, snarling delivery spat out on top as he describes the unwarranted adoration for the elites at the tip of the pyramid.

The interruption and complete tonal shift when the cataclysm hits is something I've never really heard in a song before. The fervour and excitement of those opening couple of minutes is replaced by an eerie weightless sound that is so unsettling. It feels suspended in time as Jordan describes the fate of the room and the world beyond it.

I think a lot of the enjoyment of La Dispute songs is treating them almost like you would a book and painting the imagery of the songs in your own mind. But man would I love to see a music video for this from a renowned filmmaker...

Waaaay overpaid for a ticket to their Grand Rapids show but seeing them in a 450 cap room in their hometown I just couldn't pass up.

Sibling Fistfight is also insane. At this point, I am willing say that this is easily their best.
