Amazing on first listen, the lyrics are as amazing as ever. Some tracks really hit hard on first listen. Excited for repeat listens.
I listened to the first drop and nothing else, and this is extremely great. I loved every track but the standout for me was I Dreamt of a Room With All My Friends. It really scratched the rooms of the house itch.
Man with hands and ankles bound, environmental catastrophe film, and top sellers banquets are the ones
This one is catching me in a way they haven’t before. Such a mood throughout. Autofiction is literally a MWY b side lol. Hitting every trope.
perfect bookend that seems like a good summation of one of the overarching theme's of the record. man i can't wait to dig in more.
on my first listen, floored so far and only on Autofiction Detail. speaking of which, major Dismemberment Plan vibes on that first verse edit: Top-Sellers Banquet. holy shit.
Pull down every window, penitently We've grown weak Heavy summer heat Stagnant with your unmet needs Please come back, sweetheart Please, I need this Please, don't leave You said, "You're mine" You said, "It's all fine" Said, "It's my fault" I believed it every time You said- Take the time to learn You'd put the extra work in first Keep promises you made Change how you behave And everything you said reversed All the things you did went backwards Planting seeds there Never acted once they bloomed Now they grow downward in the dirt Entombed How else is there to say That last night when I slept I dreamt about a room Standing in the light And everyone was there but you And honestly? I love you but it felt so good these lyrics hit me so hard due to something that’s happened to me recently like jfc
this album is very cool, super dense but offers a lot of really compelling sprawling roads. jordan sounds insane here gonna be the odd one out and say that while i love this i do prefer panorama and still think its their strongest and most cohesive lp. guess i just look for different stuff in this band
I think this is more dynamic and memorable than Panorama but it could be recency bias. I also feel that they did a good job marketing and hyping the living shit out of this one to give it a lot of texture and presence that Panorama did not have. Definitely a band that just keeps getting better with age, each record better than the last for me.
panorama definitely had a more low key marketing approach where i think they were trying to let the music and aesthetics speak for themselves more than draw a lot of attention to them, where this was basically promoted to keep their name in the media as much as possible also i gotta say its really nice hearing an album that took such a long time to come out that legitimately feels like it warrants the wait
