Honestly hate to say it but Wildlife might be my least fav at this point. It’s an extremely heavy album thematically and emotionally. Can’t just throw on King Park or Edward Benz whenever. Also have some personal stuff tied to that album I was going through around the time of its release. Still a great album
sometimes I forget how good wildlife is but then I remember “I see everything” exists and remember it’s GOATed
Today, I'm at: Rooms of the House Wildlife Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair Panorama I like all of them, but the top two are something else in how they hit my brain. If the new one ends up above Somewhere, it'll be hard for it to miss my top five at the end of the year.
Panorama is easily my least favourite and Wildlife feels unbeatable. If this is even on the same level as Rooms/Somewhere I'll be so thrilled.
Been turning to Panorama a lot more lately and see it creeping higher for me. Wildlife is special, but I think Rooms has passed it for me with Panorama getting up there.
Yup unless the final 2 tracks are absolute stinkers I think I can confidently say this will be my fav la dispute album. Sellers Banquet is like a grown up thematically inverted king park in my mind.
thread has me hitting my panorama wax again and good lord fulton street i + ii + rhodonite is an all timer run. that moment in fulton ii where all hell breaks loose is one of the most cathartic moments in their whole discog
Panorama is probably only my 3rd fav of theirs, but I think Fulton I is their best song. It just has such an emotional weight to it. Feels very important.
Rooms is #1 for me. Everything else is tied for 2nd place and impossible to rank. Their entire discography is perfect imo.
I’m glad there’s so much Rooms love now. In my memory when it came out people were sad it wasn’t Wildlife. It’s always been my preference for their best album since release - a personally impactful release for me.
This is my hot take but I've felt each record is better than the last from this band. A true reverse chronological tier. To the point where I didn't love wildlife when it came out and everyone was talking about the new wave. I like it a lot more now looking back, but these eps and Panarama are their best work and I think the band themselves would agree.
I think something is wrong with me that I just bop to King Park. Like I'll just put it on the for the car ride home instinctively. Rooms is 1, tho.
I could go rooms or wildlife. Probably wildlife only because the energy around that album at the time felt untouchable. I’ll probably never listen to panorama again
all you gotta do is swap panorama and rooms and thats spot on panorana is amazing, mildly baffled by the recent reception. this rooms nostalgia must be a new thing
Wildlife Somewhere Rooms Panorama Something like that. I should revisit Panorama at some point, I've not listened to it since 2019.
people have always been big on rooms around here, moreso than anywhere else on the internet ive seen for me panorama is the band zeroing in on exactly my least favorite tendencies of theirs
I love Rooms of the House. It's also nostalgic for me because it was such a great time of new music. I was listening to that, The Hotelier's Home, and Fireworks Oh, Common Life all at the same time that spring.
