Yep. The start of this certainly brings to mind Genevieve, which is one of my favourite Pianos songs so this sounds heavenly to me.

4 for 4. This is going to be the album of the year. I feel it in my bones.

Speaking of Pianos, remember when music blogs were talking about The Wave? As in "the new wave of hardcore bands," which is a ridiculous assessment because I think "hardcore" is far from the right label. But anyway, I think The Wave included:

Touche Amore
La Dispute
Pianos Become the Teeth
Defeater
Make Do and Mend (?)

Those were thrilling times. Felt like there was so much incredible music coming out all the time. I remember listening to MDAM EP songs on repeat on their myspace. I'd go there regularly to see if they'd posted anything new. No Sleep Records was still around. Obama. Good times.

 

MDAM were definitely part of "the wave" - i remember reading an interview with James Carroll who was talking about it when End Measured Mile came out. I still absolutely LOVE that band and miss them every day. Bring 'em back!!

 

everything so far has been great. feeling very Wildlife adjacent.
