I like the new song, don’t love it

 

I like pretty much all of their stuff but nothing else has really hit like Permanent Rebellion for me. That song is so good.

 

Grifter is the one for me

 

I really liked Permanent Rebellion but haven't really cared for any of their songs since, I feel they are missing something that their main bands brought to the table. If Circa Survive was playing When We Were Young they'd be on my top 5 but Ls dunes aren't even on my list.

 

Agree with all of this and maybe the most disappointing thing is having Travis from Coheed and still such vanilla or at least unmemorable guitar parts on most Dunes tracks. For a long time I've assumed Claudio had forced them in a poppier direction with less room for the prominent, creative leads of the early days, but maybe that wasn't the explanation.

Like others have said, I enjoy the Dunes material... it's fine. Very little of it grabs or excites me, tho.

 

Grey Veins is my favorite outside Permanent Rebellion (which is an absolute ripper)

 

Doom.Spun, Anthony's new b-side album/EP, is pretty great.

 

Sleep Cult is my one go-to track.. and Past Lives (song)

 

I do def like his solo stuff

 

im not a huge coheed fan but they seem like they got comparatively a little more instrumentally out there on the more recent albums than the old ones imo

Past Lives is a no skips album for me
