I had a chat with L.S. Dunes whilst they were at Slam Dunk last weekend, and that went live today for anyone who's interested.
This will be the 4th single they’ve put out since last year so… a new record is gonna be announced sooner than later I imagine right?
I’m pretty sure Old Wounds and Benadryl Subreddit were a completely separate session way before the new album was started. And I think How Dare You was recorded around the time as the new album but wasn’t intended to be on it. I could be very wrong though and I’m just basing this off of what I’m trying to recall. Lol
I'm pretty sure I saw an interview with Anthony Green saying that a new album was coming out later this year or early next year.
Hmm, seems they’re going more the circa route where each guitar plays sort of their own thing on their side of the mix. I like it for circa but I do wish sometimes it felt a bit more cohesive or glued here. There were moments I loved in this though and I’m still amped on a second album!
This feels like they finally found their footing. I think that I like this better than most, or all, of the tracks from the debut album. That little outro "sure enough, sure enough, sure enough, shut up" is bliss also.
Meh. It's fine. I simply can't wrap my mind around how this much star power in one band does nothing for me. I'm happy for these guys having a fun dad rock band and vibing with each other and everything, but god damn it I miss the innovation and subversion of Circa, Thursday, and Coheed. I desperately miss the electricity of a new circa record drop and tour. I'm getting a little long in the tooth I suppose, and this straightforward alt rock really ain't it for me.
I largely agree. Don’t get me wrong, I’m expecting them to release something that rivals the peaks of their other bands, but they just haven’t really clicked for me. I like the album, but haven’t listened to it much since it came out and I’ve already shared my thoughts on the singles they’ve released since then. Cool band and I’ll continue to follow them. Would like to see them again too. Hopefully they release an album or EP or something that I love and will still listen to somewhat regularly after the initial shine wears off
I like a handful of songs ok including the new one. At this point it doesn’t seem likely I’ll love anything they’ll do. ideally Ant would be a regular in a second full time band too or something maybe. I’m fine with no Saosin. I’d always take more Circa but something else new and compelling would be great.
