Kong's got agility and skill
I thought John C Reilly was an odd casting choice but ended up being the stand out of the movie. It was standard fair, but he was incredible in every scene.
Originally that was Michael Keaton's role before he dropped out
I had read that. Sort of curious about that how he could bring similar things to the role.
would have lovvvvved for Michael Keaton to play the role but I really enjoyed JCR as well.
a lot of people in my theatre got up and were leaving and I was like, man are they going to be bummed haha.
Man now I'm really mad I didn't stick around.
I recorded the end credit scene. I'll post it here in a bit

That was an offensively bad film. My god I haven't hated a film that much in a long time.
Really? Interesting; I think it depends on what your expectations are going into the film. For me, all I wanted was a giant monster destroying shit, with awesome CGI, and that's exactly what I got. Dialogue was bad, and characters weren't that developed, but I wasn't really looking for that.
Your reaction though was the same as me after seeing No Country For Old Men
I didn't expect anything and somehow it was worse! Lol
This was silly, messy, and outright bad for a lot of reasons (characters, dialogue, tone), but it did make me smile a few times. I laughed a lot when I wasn't supposed to. The first half was better than the second half and the graveyard scene was definitely the turning point. Absurdly bad.
This was just a fun mindless flick
This was thoroughly entertaining. It's like the director just wanted to make this crazy, colorful, fun monster movie, and it totally delivered. Leaves a lot to be desired from some of the characters, but as soon as they get to the island it was non-stop fun for me.
yeah I don't get what some people were looking for, I was looking for a fun crazy monster movie with a badass king kong. and I got it, some of the characters are just there, some of them were awesome. I had fun and wasn't let down at all haha.
Hiddleston was almost distractingly bland, but the characters are pretty much fodder for Kong and the monsters. And Kong was AWESOME. I laughed at almost everything John C. Reilly said too.
