Murder on the orient express had a 3 day opening though. The lower budget for Knives Out should hopefully help it be successful
still incredible, more than worth seeing again. i think it's between this and parasite for my movie of the year
Had to give up my advanced screening tickets, so I won't be seeing this tomorrow, unfortunately. Hopefully next Friday for me.
all four early access screenings in boston pretty much filled up except for the very front seats, hope that's a sign this does real good
I kept waiting for it to be revealed that Marta was actually involved in some way in his death. The little bits of conversation where she says she told him to cut his entire family out for the different reasons had me suspicious. I'm happy she was innocent though. I did figure that Craig was keeping her close because he knew she did it--but not because of the blood.
rewatching this means you pick up on more things. like in one scene early on harlan talks to marta about how he's so overconfident that he can't tell a real knife from a fake one, and that's exactly what happens to ransom
Yeah every little thing is setup earlier on and when it all comes together in the end, it's super satisfying. Like, I spent nearly all movie going "When are they going to tie the dogs barking at 3AM back into the mix?" and the reveal that Evans' character was the cause was super obvious in hindsight
Oh, and the reveal that at the end of the day, Harlan really did just commit suicide for no reason just in an attempt to save Marta's family was heartbreaking
