I don't dislike the cover, I just don't understand it. I have no idea what the paint is supposed to be or why it is there... I've seen the movie twice.
there is no point - studios just re-release physical media with different covers all the time with no rhyme or reason
They’re clearly targeting shoppers in stores like Walmart and Target who might be interested in a cheap dvd, but don’t know exactly what they want. You see Daniel Craig, a recognizable star, you pick up the box, read the back, and maybe buy it. They know the purchase rate will be low, they’re just looking to pick up a few impulse buys.
Glad I still have the release day steelbook version. Difficult to imagine improving on cover art like that.
What's also nuts is that it says he's written the sequels. So since Knives Out has come out, he's written two Knives Out sequels and a detective TV show. That's a lot in one year (though I suppose he could have started writing the show prior to KO coming out).
