Marta told him everything after the will reading and he realized she actually gave Harlan the correct medicine when she had thought she mixed them up
OHHHHHH she told him she gave him the liquid from the morphine bottle, not from the other one, and he knew that that was actually the right medicine. Duh.
when they thought Fran did it they mentioned that a person with no medical background wouldn't know what the normal blood level of the medication was also speaking of Fran can't believe I didn't realize that was Judy Gemstone
She wasn’t sympathetic at all, though. They all cared about Marta to the extent that it didn’t get in the way of their own wealth. She only seems more sympathetic because she was just in the background more than the rest, perfectly fine with everyone else being as viscerally craven as they were
One of my favorite aspects of this was that halfway through I was convinced Blanc was a complete fraud since he technically didn’t help solve anything for the majority of the film. He was smarter than the cops but not actually any more useful. But then in an anti-twist(?) he proved himself capable by being able to deduce everything after reading the toxicology report
The idea of like four more Benoit Blanc movies (which Rian Johnson has expressed serious interest in doing) fills me with glee.
yeah I didn't realize until someone mentioned it somewhere that she's the one who's the ultimate sell out even though she considered herself "friends" with Marta and Fran
I loved hearing JGL's voice in this. Even if he's only had cameo's in Johnson's last two films, it's always fun to see them working together.
The studios projections were 25-29 million, 35 at the MOST optimistic. Looking like it could hit $45. Hell to the yes.
I need Benoit Blanc to become the next Hercule Poirot, we all need to do our part and see this at least ten times in the theater
This was absolutely fantastic. Had me guessing from beginning to end. Amazing cast. Cool location. Everything
a prequel where we see him being profiled for The New Yorker while solving a mystery, I was gonna say Julia Stiles from Hustlers should be the reporter but that was New York not The New Yorker
Saw this for a second time and loved it even more. I'd definitely be down with more Blanc, but then I love Craig in like everything. So happy to hear it's doing so well, have pretty much loved every film by Rian.
A reported 41.7 million 5-day blowing up the 20-30million projection. 70 mil Worldwide on a 40million dollar budget. Fuck. Yes. Huge win. So happy for Rian and all involved. I haven’t seen it because of health issues and it’s killing me but it seems well deserved. Give Rian his Star Wars trilogy. Or not and just give him whatever budget wants to manifest his brilliant vision.
