I watched it way earlier today... But nothing huge jumped out at me. but if you're sold on the movie, I way skip it and just see the movie.

    Caved in, that was fun

Also some people at SDCC got to see the opener, and it apparently is one of the four scenes in the movie that... well, you know...

No. I don't know. One of four scenes that what?

Lives up to the level of the church scene.

Really hope that is true. That scene will be hard to beat.

A far-fetched plot just killed me. Amazing.

I wasn't completely sold on Firth coming back, but it's obvious Vaughn knows how ridiculous it actually is so I'm more confident the explanation will be good or at least self aware.

So this won't be doing Logan numbers, but it'll probably outdo the first one's opening weekend, might edge out Lego Ninjago and have an overall great two weeks before Blade Runner comes out. Was still hoping this would end up being a big breakout sequel, though

I don't understand why people dislike long movies.

The way I look at it, I'm getting more for my money.

Long movies are only good if the movie can justify the length

I liked most of this, but this was kind of a notable step down from the first. That's not saying much, as The Secret Service is still one of the better CBMs of the last few years. This simply wasn't wall-to-wall awesome, even though it's bigger. Still great enough to justify being

    Pros:

    - Everyone in the cast is good or better. Julianne Moore is a damn good villain, Eggsy/Egerton is still someone you care about (unlike Dave in Kick-Ass), Firth is good and Strong's arguably as charming as ever
    - Speaking of Firth, the explanation for how he still exists was, at least for me, fine. No real complaints, but others could very well disagree
    - Action scenes are fun, especially the first one. Nothing on par w/ the church scene, much less four things sadly. But I wasn't depending on that. You should still be entertained.
    - Humor lands well for the most part. And there's some callbacks to the first where my theater applauded
    - Elton John stole the show with ease

    Cons:

    - This was something that concerned a lot of fans, but a certain couple of characters were dealt with in a way I pretty much hated. Characters I was hoping to see more of
    - Channing Tatum (and I suppose Halle Berry and Jeff Bridges) aren't in the film for as long as you think they'd be. But when he's on screen, he's enjoyable
    - There's a twist that if you pay attention, you'll be able to see coming instantly
    - While the length didn't bother me (almost 2:30), I can imagine liking it more if Vaughn just trimmed it by at least ten minutes
    - the most disgusting thing you'll ever see in a CBM

I'd still say see this movie, and I'd maybe put it on par with X-Men: First Class. This is probably gonna be better than Lego Ninjago if you were planning to see of those this weekend. And I'm still looking forward to a Kingsman trilogy should we get a third film
