All of the episode synopses are out there now. Cautiously optimistic about most of them from a quick skim
One of my fears was that they would rely heavily on modern topics, like you mentioned. So hoping that isn’t completely the case
The NA beer one stuck out to me. Feels like it’s a pretty mundane topic but I could see it being hilarous
I'm up to season 12 and I forgot how genuinely right wing the show could be. There is a whole episode defending powder puff games and implying that those against it are missing something in their life.
It will be interesting to hear the voice actors changes “King of the Hill” reboot star Toby Huss 'trying to do some justice' to late Johnny Hardwick in taking over voice of Dale
I'm definitely excited for this, so all of those reviews have me even more pumped. Every clip I've seen so far makes me feel like this is right in line with the original run. If it's at least the same quality as the later seasons, I'll be happy.
Watched the first two episodes last night and they were ok! I think they definitely got Hank, Peggy, and Bill right so far.
Watched the first 2 last night. Dale and Peggy's voices are both off to me in a way I can't explain. Hardwick was credited in the first 2 so I think it's still him, but it's almost like he's doing something weird with his mouth and annunciating strangely? I think I caught that Billy Strings does a new instrumental rendition of the theme for the end credits?
Watch the first three. Only cons for me is the new Dale voice actor not sounding quite right, and the animation looking a little too polished and digital. Besides that I thought it was great. Same old KOTH. Didn't miss a beat tone wise. I do like they acknowledge that Dale's bullshit is normalized now.
Johnny Hardwick voices Dale in eps 1-6. Toby Huss doesn’t take over until ep 7, from my understanding
