I chose to not watch this one, so that’s probably fair. Lol

 

It is such an ugly, hateful movie. It wants to be shocking in the way a middle schooler tries to be shocking.

 

Only God Forgives is the hardest ive ever backflipped on a film. Absolutely hated it on first watch, later I talked to someone who told me I watched it wrong, went back and loved it on a second viewing.

It was 10years ago and I dont remember what their take was, I wonder how id feel if I watched it again now.

 

idk or care about best at this point but nice guys is my favorite of his

 

-The reveal that the “tapes” are swinger sex tapes
-The closing credits of the dog society with the Dio song playing over them
-The hard cut to Emma Stone dancing

Three of the funniest moments in film this year

 

The first segment is better than everything else Lanthimos has done in English.

 

This was top 10 of the year for me, and I still think it's a horror film just as much as it is an absurdist comedy.
