I wasn't a huge fan of this but I kinda do wanna see it again, maybe just not all in one sitting this time I'm so glad this wasn't the only thing we saw Hunter or Margaret in this year, they're like barely in this
after sitting on it for a while i think my main gripe (aside from Hunter and Margaret being hardly in it) is that it's just so cynical, three hours of it gets overwhelming. that being said, i'd likely watch it again, it's probably not as bad if you take a break between segments
Lowkey loved this. Had no idea what to expect going in -- I like Yorgos, but didn't love Dogtooth and haven't seen anything prior, so I'm only familiar with his recent work -- but yeah, this was pitch-black and sporadically very funny and everyone in it was firing on all cylinders. A lot more horror-adjacent than I was expecting, basically his Twilight Zone movie or Treehouse of Horror. Of what I've seen from him: Kinds of Kindness The Lobster Poor Things The Killing of a Sacred Deer Dogtooth
The Lobster Poor Things The Killing of a Sacred Deer Kinds of Kindness The Favourite Dogtooth Alps I love all of them deeply. I want to rewatch Alps, it's the only one aside from Kinds of Kindness that I've seen once and it was a while ago.
Gosling is good in Barbie and his best film is Song to Song, but he doesn't really do much in that movie.
I generally don't blame actors for bad performances because the director is the one responsible. Only God Forgives is probably the worst.
