Bait, Claws and Minute are my favs and I really enjoy King of Hearts a lot, but i don’t think it fully fits within the album. Kind of think it feels more like a collection of songs than a realized album actually, but happy to have the new music nonetheless!
I adore Kim but this record is all over the place, there’s no through line here. Was hoping she’d dive into more hyper pop but a lot of this sounds like Fame-era Gaga. Also, her label tacking in Unholy is so cheesy. They’re just doing it to get a better chart position due to the streams.
i know kim can do better than a lot of this album. i think there’s a lot of good here and nothing is blatantly bad to me, some is somewhat forgettable but overall there’s a bunch of good songs, just feels like a comp in how it wants to go in so many different directions throughout, as well as the inclusion of tracks that have been around for a while. i’m happy to have more songs from kim petras to listen to, that’s for sure.
I definitely don't think this album is bad, but it certaintly does feel uninspired and doesn't really bring anything exciting to the table. I know she's trying to be mainstream asap, but I do miss her specific take on pop music that Clarity and the singles before had.
I’ve been trying to return to this since it was released and it’s fine, but it hasn’t held my attention like her previous stuff. I think she’ll come back more focused and I agree with Charli - I think there’s a play for commercial success here, and think this album doesn’t wholly come together because of that. Also she can 100% fuck right off with a $50 single LP lol
I've listened to the leaked version a few times and wasn't that into it, this is a different and shorter track list, makes me wonder if it will flow any better
Caught the Chicago date of her tour last night and loved it. She played a good mix of her catalog. Got Slut Pop all the way through minus Your Wish, some Turn Off the Light for the Halloween season, and a whole lot of Feed the Beast. Sprinkles of Problematique, Era 1, and Clarity in there as well.
agreed, saw the show in Toronto and while it was def undersold it was really fun. you can tell they had a fairly limited production budget, probably due to the light sales but it was great. her voice is legit live.
Interesting Toronto was undersold, we were packed like sardines at the 5K cap venue she played here. Agreed on her voice being legit, she sounded phenomenal the entire show. Never sounded like she had trouble hitting those high notes
Damn should have turned my headphones on before I hit play while I'm working. Good thing I work from home.
1. Slut Pop Reprise (1:35) 2. Gag on It (1:39) 3. Fuckin’ This Fuckin’ That (1:06) 4. Banana Boat (2:21) 5. Get Fucked (2:07) 6. Rim Job (2:40) 7. Cockblocker (2:28) 8. Butt Slutt (1:32) 9. Head Head Honcho (3:01) 10. Cubana (1:41) 11. Whale Cock (1:50) 12. Can we fuck? (1:53) Total length: 23:53
I really wanna give her a listen but can she really not find literally ANY other producer in her lane of dance-pop, especially after becoming a Grammy Award winner, that isn't Dr. Luke?
That's the craziest thing because she absolutely CAN but then doesn't. More than half of Feed The Beast is without him, but then he's back for every track of this and Problematique
Gonna be a skip for me because of that. Truly no excuse and the thought of Luke having a hand in something so hypersexual is too much.
