Wow didn't realize this was written by the same author as Lost City of Z and The Old Man & The Gun. Does this mean Marty's Jerry Garcia movie is dead for now? I can't seem to find anything about it beyond the announcement, Jonah Hill saying the script was being written, and a Dailymail article that has photos of him "in character" that just looks how Jonah Hill normally looks. The HR article also doesn't mention it
Announcements are totally meaningless. Won’t get excited for anything until it actually starts shooting
A bit off topic, but…80th birthday rank. https://variety.com/lists/best-martin-scorsese-movies-ranked/ I was getting worried as I was scrolling down the list and didn’t see ‘Silence.’ A bit surprised but I’ll take it for #1. Silence is a film that not only challenges Christians and their own personal faith, but anyone who is seeking answers that they are not going to be happy with. The key is what you can find in the silence. It’s a powerful film which portrays what we WANT from God vs what we experience from God. Do our wants rule over God’s plan? How do we come to terms with this? It’s also a good shout out to the beautiful landscape of northeast Taiwan as that’s where the film was made.
Definitely reads as a ranking based on favorites rather than critical examination, but I guess that's how most of these go.
