i did not take it as minnie being poisoned, i assumed she had diabetes as well and at the point where she died, insulin wasn't even available yet
This was so depressing but also excellent! Gladstone and De Niro were excellent! I thought Leo was good but in terms of best actor I think Cillian would be my pick. Brendan Fraser…he was in the wrong movie for sure. I missed the musicians in this but if they had small roles it makes sense they could be missed)
There’s probably many scenes like this (maybe the entire movie tbh), but I haven’t gotten the chance to rewatch this yet (and probably won’t until the onslaught of Oscar season slows down), but the scene prior to the explosion I noticed Scorsese frames Isbells character in the corner of the frame, in the other room, out of focus, but there, and when he’s not there a white girl is passing through the room. All while Lily Gladstone is sitting at the table, I don’t think she was alone in a single shot. I found this fascinating. There is a white person in every shot. Hovering, watching, almost stalking. It’s pretty incredible.
Loved this, just devastating and interesting and captivating performances the whole time. Weirdest theater behavior I’ve had in a minute though lol. A fight almost broke out between these two old guys right at the beginning because one would not stop talking loudly. He eventually stopped, but like the other guy had to get out of his seat and get right in his face asking him to leave before he would stop. The talking guy ended up leaving with about 30 minutes left. Also with about 15 minutes left, some woman got up and came to the back row (I was the only other person in the back row) and started like, shuffling left and right quietly. Like she wanted to get up and stretch after being seated for 3+ hours which like, fine I guess but it was very distracting to me being the only other person that could see her lol.
lol I also had a similar experience when we saw this. Multiple boomers talking and coughing loudly then apologizing after. An argument did occur at the beginning because someone stole someone’s seats.
I prefer assigned seats, but it’s incredibly annoying when you go to your seats and someone is sitting there. I live in Indy so theaters aren’t particularly crowded, but still irks me because unless it’s packed to the gills I’m just going to go find another seat and hope no one has those seats.
What the fuck? That shit gives me mad anxiety, plus I wanna pick my ideal spot to begin with and claim it how often are you in someone else’s seat @Morrissey lol
