I hope it stays in the theater for a bit because I want to see it again but won’t have time for a few weeks.
I don't think that's particularly pretentious, though it strikes me as really odd to not have listened to an album in 15 years even once, and even more odd to spend time on a music forum if that's the case
There are few posters on Chorus consistent in both their music and movie taste. A bunch did not follow over from AP edit: Let me rephrase. There are people on here whose opinions I seek out for films, and people I seek out for music. Rarely is there a poster who I turn to for both. Rest in paradise @fleetdominon and @deadkidsean
Props to anyone who can stick with music mostly from 15+ years ago. My taste changes so often that I feel as if my entire music library goes through a mass extinction event every 6 or 7 years.
i made a post defending tetra but i deleted it since i’m wearing jeans and too busy sweating it out on my ranch
I like that Ice Spice deli song. Someone showed me a song that says something like I'm glad I never ever had a baby with you. Those were good songs. My students made me listen to a song from Sexy Red and I thought it was too vulgar. Other than the car or maybe while I'm grading papers I don't listen to music that much, and when I'm doing those things it is more background noise so it's probably someone I listen to a lot like The Mars Volta or Smashing Pumpkins or The Smiths.
New headcanon: he had COVID which is why I now have COVID and couldn't see Anatomy of a Fall and The Killer this weekend
i think the trailer was a bit misleading for what the movie ended up being but i can’t imagine who the people are that see this solely off the trailer and nothing else
Saw it last night and I have a lot of thoughts: 1) Also not familiar with Jason Isbell but he stole almost every scene he was in. That one scene where he and Leo are being passive aggressive towards each other was great. “Do you want a drink?” 2) Don’t think I’ll be able to get that image of the back of Rita’s head out of my mind for quite a while. 3) The one actor who played the guy who admitted to wanting kill children for inheritance always plays the best characters in Scorsese and Terrence Winter projects. Great casting. 4) De Niro and Lily just crushed it as others said. De Niro was truly vile and yet still managed to win me over with some of his mannerisms like when he cheekily turned him self in. Also his driving goggles were great. 5) The score wow. During that scene where Bill sets fire to his ranch the music was so cool. 6) So is the assumption that Minnie was poisoned as well?
Re 6, I think it is safe to assume that every bad thing that happens to a native person was intentionally inflicted on them by a white person. Only possible exception is the baby who died of whooping cough
