Yeah The Irishman was my longest. Didn't pee once during that. A religious experience

 

Started the book yesterday and ended up finishing the first two Chronicles. It's been such an easy and thrilling read.

No idea where they're going to go with the third one but I'm excited to find out after work.

 

I used to refuse to pee during a movie, but with movies hitting streaming/VOD so fast these days, I no longer torture myself.

 

Nothing is worse than having to throw up while at the theater

 

No there is exactly one thing worse and it’s kind of the opposite of that but also the same

The Irishman was a wild experience, feel like 90% of the crowd was over 60 and I was ugly crying half the movie, what a wonderful time.

 

I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me because I easily go 5+ hours without needing to pee and it's confusing to me that it's such a big deal for people to sit through a movie

but if they would just get rid of theaters you could watch at home and pause and piss as much as you'd like

 

I will go through an entire full day of work with a commute both ways without using the bathroom but I rarely make it through a whole movie.

Unfortunately, film as an art form would no longer exist if theaters ceased to exist

The AV Club is pretty upset that Scorsese once again briefly mentioned his displeasure with Marvel films. It's really.....something? That site is utter shit now. You can make a well-reasoned point without asserting that Scorsese's entire filmography celebrates(!) and is comprised of toxic masculinity.

I am still puzzled how people still can't seem to understand that depiction does not equal endorsement. And, goddamn, how does anyone still think The Wolf of Wall Street is somehow on Jordan Belfort's side? I'll never forget seeing that in the theater and the audible gasp from the audience when he hits Margot Robbie's character. It was blatantly clear that Scorsese was basically saying, "Hey, you think this guy is something to aspire to? How about now?"

Yeah. I have no clue why I even bother with it. It's mind blowing to think Ignatiy Vishnevetsky once wrote for that site when you read it now. What a joke.

 

But it's hilarious to read people's strategies regarding piss breaks during the movie. I thought I was a complete psychopath for already thinking of a plan for this Saturday. Haha.

I usually can make it through most movies without peeing but then you get those situations where you get hit with the need to be and you're sure there are just 15-20 minutes left and the great internal debate begins whether you should hold it or not.

 

AV Club hasn’t done anything good since they stopped the series where bands did covers in that tiny circular room like 10+ years ago. Those ripped though. Titus doing They Might Be Giants and Mountain Goats doing Jawbreaker come to mind

 

The Landmark chain that gets a lot of foreign stuff near me has a staircase to get to the bathroom and it can be soooo long to get there and back
