Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon III: The Chosen (Dec, 11, 2020)

A new solo album from Kid Cudi is finally on the way.

On Monday afternoon (Oct. 26), Cudder announced the release of his forthcoming album, Man on the Moon III. In a visual shared on his Twitter page, which features a video montage of the Cleveland rapper in the beginning, a silhouette of Cudi can be seen staring at what appears to be a blood moon. Seemingly metaphoric for his new album.

Faint chants of "Cudi" can also be heard in the background as he lights either a cigarette or a blunt.

The visual closes out with the roman numeral three and the phrase, "The trilogy continues." The social media post is also captioned, "THE TRILOGY CONTINUES..."

While there was no official release date offered, the rhymer notes that the effort will be arriving "soon."

    ANYWAY:

    2) Kids See Ghosts (2018)
    3) Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager (2010)
    4) Indicud (2013)
    5) A Kid Named Cudi (2008)
    6) Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin' (2016)
    7) KiD CuDi presents SATELLITE FLIGHT: The journey to Mother Moon (2014)
    8) WZRD (2012)
    9) Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven (2015)

Let's see where this fits in.

I love MOTM PT II. So much rad 60's psychedelic stuff going on in the production.

@soggytime your bottom three ranking is certainly 100% correct. I probably agree with most the rest of your list also tbh, but I would put Kids See Ghosts lower, a bit overrated in my opinion

Made me so fucking happy to see this today. Album cover is incredible too, although I wish it had Kanye and King Chip features because they were both on the first two albums lol. Cudi's solo songs are usually better anyway

    My ranking would be

    MOTM1>MOTM2>AKNC>KSG>PP&DS>Indicud>SF>WZRD>SB2H

Listen to A Kid Named Cudi if you haven't, it's not on streaming services but it's essential in his discography

Friday can't come soon enough. I'm doing a run-thru of his (good) albums in the meantime. (Starting with A Kid Named Cudi)

I'm in the middle of a runthrough too but I'm including everything lol, I think I have it scheduled where I can hit everything. Indicud is such an underrated album

Agreed that Indicud is underrrarted. Not my favorite, but there's some great songs there. Red Eye is forever a favorite.

    First listen complete.

This is super consistent front back. His beats are fucking ON POINT and the Phoebe song is fucking great. He seems to dial back on the psychedelic vibes and is a little more straight forward on this one compared to past releases.

I think it could be leaned out some, but the short tracks sorta helps with that flaw. It'll be interesting to see what song he puts out as a single because IDK if there was a super identifiable song that could be a single after first listen.

Nonetheless, Cudi is back and this fits right in with the Man On The Moon Trilogy. With time I can see sliding above PT II due to its consistency.

Super excited to spend more time with this.

Halfway in so far and not terribly into it. It's VERY one-note, feels like one long song, not much diversity at all. I'm sure things will stand out more on subsequent listens, but it's a very sleepy vibey album without much to grab onto
