So you're saying....this should've followed up BTCAC rather than Bulldozer/Bubblegum being the follow up. I see.

BTCAC is one of my favorite albums of his, so that sounds promising to me.

I don’t want to say too much lofty shit after only one listen, but I feel comfortable enough saying this is easily his best sequenced record. it feels like an experience from top to bottom. very very pleasantly surprised by this record, easily one of my favorites by him, could see it becoming my favorite. never saw it coming, especially after Instigator failed to do much for me. happy he stretched himself out for this.

I enjoyed Instigator, but I agree that this feels like a step forward for him. Really enjoying this.

Yeah Instigator is solid for sure, just felt a little bit like he was leaning into "classic" KD whereas this is pushing his boundderies

Agree with the consensus here. Very good

  10. Yeah, I was casually looking forward to this and really enjoyed my first listen. It feels like a very strong record that blends parts of BTC&C and Bubblegum. Again, really interesting production flourishes and instrumental additions. I kinda wish "Override" wasn't so repetitive, and I'm picky about phaser effects ("If I'm Gonna Die Here"), but I'm excited to spend more time with this. I do truly love Instigator though, so I'm not prepared to say whether this is better or worse or on par just yet. It does feel more like an evolution of his sound, though.

This is one of those records where it takes multiple listens to fully digest. There's a lot to unpack.

Last song on the album gave me Brand New "Science Fiction" vibes, sonically.

I said sonically. Last I knew BN had 4 other dudes that werent Jesse. Im speaking of the sound of the track, not the secret weird shit that might be behind it.

Saying it sounds like something doesn't mean you're promoting what one member of a band did. It's ok, don't get mad at anyone here.

the first word that comes to mind when I finish this is “atmosphere”. There’s so much of it on here. Makes for a great listen on the headphones. Thanks KD
